FAQs
Find answers to your most pressing questions about our treatments and services.
Q: Do I need a consultation to book a service?
A: Yes, most treatments at YourSkinLab begin with a dermatologist consultation. We want to make sure the treatments you get are appropriate for your skin and that you get your hard-earned money’s worth. Some basic services, like the Essential Facial and Hydrafacial, may be booked directly, but we still recommend starting with a consultation for best results.
Q: Who performs the treatments at YourSkinLab?
A: All consultations and treatments are performed by our PDS board-certified dermatologists, ensuring safe, science-backed care—except for our Essential Facial and Hydrafacial, which are done by our trained skincare professionals under dermatologist supervision.
Q: Why do I need multiple sessions, and why is timing important?
A: Skin renewal and collagen building happen gradually. Most treatments work best when done in a series because:
- Each session builds on the results of the previous one
- Your skin needs time to recover and regenerate between treatments
- Proper spacing (e.g., every 3–4 weeks) ensures safe, effective outcomes
Think of it like fitness training — consistency and timing make all the difference in achieving lasting results.
Q: Can multiple treatments be done on the same day?
A: Yes, in many cases treatments can be safely combined in one visit — for example, a Hydrafacial followed by laser or microneedling. Combining treatments may even boost results when planned properly. However, not all procedures can be done together. Your dermatologist will recommend the safest sequence and timing for your skin’s needs.
Q: What payment methods do you accept?
A: We accept major credit cards, bank transfers, e-wallets, and cash.
For your convenience and safety, we encourage cashless transactions whenever possible.
Q: Do you accept walk-ins?
A: Yes, we welcome walk-in patients. However, appointments are prioritized to ensure smooth clinic flow and personalized care.
Q: Do you accept HMOs?
A: We currently do not accept HMO cards.
Q: Where is YourSkinLab located?
A: We are conveniently located in Pasig. You can find detailed directions and parking info on our Contact page.
Q: Is there parking available?
A: Yes, parking is available. Currently, it’s free—just don’t forget to have your ticket validated at reception after your visit. Please note that conditions may change depending on building management.
Q: What services do you offer?
A: We provide complete dermatology care—both medical and cosmetic. From acne, scars, and pigmentation treatments to anti-aging lasers, injectables, and skin boosters, every plan is customized to your skin goals.
Q: How many sessions will I need?
A: This depends on your skin concern, but here are common recommendations:
- Acne scars: 3–4 sessions scheduled 3–4 weeks apart
- Laser hair removal: 6–8 sessions for optimal results
Skin boosters: 3–4 sessions scheduled 3–4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance every 6–12
Q: Once I start a treatment, am I required to maintain it forever? Will my skin be worse if I stop?
A: No, your skin won’t become worse than before you started. Each treatment already provides improvements. However, just like exercise or a healthy diet, maintenance sessions help preserve and enhance your results over time. If you stop, your skin will simply continue to age or behave according to its natural tendencies—it won’t “rebound” or become worse.
Q: What should I bring to my appointment?
A:
Completed pre-visit questionnaire
Recent laboratory results (if any)
- Current prescriptions — please list the generic names of your medications
- A list or photo of your skincare products — note the active ingredients in each (grouped into AM, PM, and “as needed”)
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear comfortable, easily accessible clothing suited to the area you’re consulting for (e.g., shorts for leg concerns).
Q: I have a nail concern — what should I do before my visit?
A: Please remove any nail polish so your dermatologist can examine your nails clearly.
Q: Anything else I should prepare?
A: If you’re scheduled for chemical peels, lasers, or microneedling, don’t forget sun protection such as a wide-brimmed hat, umbrella, or sunglasses.
Q: What should I expect after laser or microneedling?
A:
Mild redness or swelling
Temporary darkening of spots (which will naturally flake or fade)
These usually resolve within a few days as part of the healing process
Q: Can I go back to work right away?
A:
Most treatments (Essential Facial, Hydrafacial, peels, injectables) have little to no downtime
More intensive procedures (like CO₂ fractional laser) may require 3–7 days of recovery
Q: What aftercare should I follow?
A: We provide specific aftercare instructions per procedure, but in general:
- Always use broad-spectrum sunscreen daily
- Avoid direct sun, swimming pools, and saunas for at least 5 days after peels and certain laser treatments
- Apply only dermatologist-recommended post-care products to support healing
Q: When can I resume my regular skincare?
A:
Gentle cleansers and moisturizers: usually immediately
Strong actives (retinoids, exfoliants, bleaching agents): resume only when advised by your dermatologist, usually 5–7 days post-procedure
Q: Is the treatment painful?
A: Most treatments are very tolerable. You may feel mild warmth, tingling, or a prickling sensation depending on the procedure. For lasers, microneedling, or injectables, we often apply numbing cream or use cooling methods to keep you comfortable.
Q: How soon will I see results?
A:
Some treatments (Essential Facial, Hydrafacial, peels) give you an instant refreshed glow
Others (scar treatments, lasers, injectables) work gradually, with visible results typically appearing after several weeks and improving over multiple sessions
Your dermatologist will guide you on what to realistically expect for your specific treatment
